This quilt puts a spin on the traditional Log Cabin block. It allows you to use a Jelly Roll, scraps, yardage or fat quarters. You will learn the ins and outs of making this block and different layouts. It’s quick and easy, whether a beginner or a seasoned quilter you’ll have a quilt top in no time. While it may appear challenging at first glance, the required Creative Grids 10” Wonky Log Cabin Trim Tool makes this project so easy! With only 24 blocks for the center, this project comes together very quickly and finishes to approximately 52” x 72”.

BLUE ONION

A great class to learn how to sew gentle curves and use your creativity to mix the blocks up in a variety of designs. The Blue Onion Swirling Blocks are made from a variety of contrasting prints (Batiks Fabric works great). Change it up – 12 contrasting prints that you like. The arcs are long and gentle which makes them easy to sew. Work with 6 different prints at a time to make one set of blocks.

Required: Blue Onion Pattern from Saginaw St Quilts
Recommended: Creative Grid Ruler: CGRKAOVAL & 10 ½ INCH SQUARED RULER (we will have this ruler available to borrow and share)
Prep work before class: Read through your pattern and cut your fabric into 12 ½” X 14”. You should have blocks that are 12 ½” X 14” blocks cut. We will finish the rest of the cutting at class.
