Welcome to the Piecemakers Quilt Club website...

The Piecemakers Quilt Club is located in Forks, Washington on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula. Our small town is surrounded by trees, hills, mountains, and water - rivers, lakes, ocean, and lots of rain - 10 feet annually on average (yes, that is 10 FEET). We are in the Quillayute Valley, near the forks (hence our name) of the Calawah [ka-LA-wah] and Bogachiel [bo-ga-CHEEL] rivers, which flow on to join the Quillayute [KWIL-e-oot] river before it empties into the Pacific Ocean. The peninsula is home to the Hoh and Quinault Rainforests, just a short drive from Forks. Our town heritage is tied to the region's once thriving timber industry. Today, the peaceful environment provides abundant inspiration for Forks' resident artists and crafts persons.

Every spring, the West Olympic Council of the Arts (WOCA) sponsors a community celebration called Rainfest. The Fabric of the Forest Quilt Show is an anticipated Rainfest event.

Forks' most recent claim to fame is its selection as the setting for the "Twilight" series of books! Author Stephenie Meyer went looking for the rainiest place in the US, and found Forks, WA. We are enjoying visits from Twilight fans from around the world.

Like quilters everywhere, we enjoy shopping close to home. We have our own little fabric store at the center of town inside Chinook Pharmacy, which has many of our own quilts decorating its walls. We also travel to Port Angeles and beyond to indulge our imaginations, creativity and cravings.
